About MMB Music X Brands Awards

MMB Music × Brands Awards is the first event in Romania dedicated to the relationship between music and brand communication – two worlds that, when brought together, can become a driver of culture.

From campaigns that become the soundtrack of a generation, to collaborations that bring artists closer to their audiences or brands closer to cultural relevance, the relationship between music and communication has become a space where emotions, identities and meaningful conversations are built.

The awards are dedicated to brands, agencies and businesses that have collaborated with artists or integrated music in a relevant way into their projects, whether through long-term campaigns, experiences, cultural initiatives or creative collaborations.

MMB Music × Brands Awards was born from the ecosystem of the Mastering the Music Business Conference and Showcase Festival, the first and largest international music business conference in Romania. Since 2016, MMB has brought together artists, managers, labels, booking agents, digital specialists, brands and media professionals, creating a space for collaboration and industry development.

To be eligible, the project must reflect a real collaboration between at least two distinct parties (for example: brand + artist, brand + organizer, brand + agency + artist). Projects involving a single entity promoting its own product, service or initiative without an external partner are not eligible.

Submissions may be made by any party directly involved in the development and implementation of the project:

  • Client / Brand: companies, organizations or institutions that initiated or benefited from the submitted project.
  • Agencies: creative, media, PR, digital, social media, branding, production agencies or any other partner involved in the project.
  • Artists and representatives: artists, managers, record labels, booking agencies, talent management companies or other entities representing artists.
  • Promoters and event organizers: festival organizers, concert promoters, showcase organizers or other event entities directly involved in the collaboration between brands and artists.

If the same project is submitted by multiple parties, it will only be evaluated once, as a single proposal. The participation fee applies to each submission individually and is non-refundable in case of duplicate entries.

Award Categories

MMB Music × Brands Awards includes 6 award categories and one special award.

1. Best Live Music × Brand Experience

Celebrates live experiences where the collaboration between a brand and one or more artists was central to both the concept and the audience experience. This may include artist-led activations, branded concerts or stages, organically integrated product moments within live environments, immersive installations or any other type of experience where the audience directly felt the connection between the brand and music culture.

This category does not apply to brand activations within a music festival that lack a direct musical component, such as a standalone product booth or branded lounge with no artist, performance, or music-driven element involved.

2. Best Use of Sound & Music in a Brand Campaign

Celebrates campaigns where music played an essential role in the execution, even if it was not the core communication idea. This may include original compositions created for the campaign, artist syncs, creative adaptations of existing tracks or music choices that amplified the message and made the campaign more memorable. The jury evaluates the fit between the music and the brand, the relevance of the choice and the sonic contribution to the campaign’s impact.

The music used may be Romanian or international, as long as the campaign itself was created specifically for Romania or the Republic of Moldova, and is not a local adaptation of a campaign originally developed for another market.

3. Best Artist × Brand Collaboration

Celebrates collaborations between an artist and a brand built on aligned values and identity. This may include artists becoming ambassadors or the face of a brand, campaigns built around an artist’s image and personality, or long-term partnerships where both the artist and the brand amplified each other’s message and visibility. Music may or may not be present. Both one-off campaigns and long-term partnerships are eligible, provided the collaboration had visible execution across at least two communication channels.

4. Best Brand Integration in Music Content

Celebrates brands that successfully integrated organically into an existing music context without dominating or altering it. This may include brand presence within music videos, music podcasts, releases, shows or any other type of artist-led music content where the integration felt relevant, credible and added value for both the audience and the artist. Examples may also include brand presence within a music show or format (such as a talent show, music battle or live session series), brand association with a single or album release through visual elements, special packaging or behind-the-scenes content without altering the song itself, or brand appearances within an artist’s social media content related to their creative process (studio sessions, behind the scenes).

5. Best Support for Emerging Talent

Celebrates commercial brands that actively invested in developing emerging artists or growing music scenes by providing visibility, resources, education or meaningful growth opportunities. Emerging artists are understood as artists in an early stage of their career who have not yet reached mainstream exposure, but demonstrate growth potential and industry relevance, regardless of musical genre. Submissions may center on a single emerging artist or a broader project or platform dedicated to emerging talent. They may consist of an initiative created by the brand itself or substantial support provided to an existing platform or project.

6. Music for Good Award

Celebrates initiatives where music or artist collaborations became a genuine tool for social or cultural impact. The category is open to both commercial brands and non-profit organizations, provided music was a central element of the initiative rather than simply a background or visibility tool. This may include charity concerts or events where music was the driving force behind raising awareness or funds for a cause, original songs or projects created around social or cultural themes, collaborations with artists to support community programs or educational initiatives, or platforms that used music to give visibility to underrepresented voices or causes.

7. Grand Prix

The MMB Music × Brands Awards Grand Prix is awarded to the project that demonstrated the strongest and most relevant collaboration between music and brands, regardless of format, channel or type of relationship. There are no separate submissions for the Grand Prix. Winners of the six main categories are automatically nominated, and the jury formed by the presidents of each category jury selects the winner through a separate voting process after all category deliberations are completed.

Nominations & Awards

Following the first judging round, the five highest-scoring projects in each category enter the shortlist and officially become nominees.

Nominees will be announced on October 12, 2026. Applicants will be directly notified after the completion of the first judging stage.

Each shortlisted project automatically enters the second judging stage. Each category includes three awards:

  • Gold
  • Silver
  • Bronze

The jury reserves the right not to award a prize in any category or level if the submitted projects do not meet the required standard of quality or relevance.

The winners will be announced during the awards ceremony on November 3, 2026.

The Jury

Submitted projects are evaluated by an independent jury formed of professionals with relevant experience at the intersection of music, communication and culture. The jury includes representatives from the music industry (artists, managers, labels, booking agents, festival organizers), marketing and communication professionals (brand managers, marketing directors, PR, digital and media specialists), as well as members of the creative and journalistic industries.

Judging Structure

The judging process takes place in two stages:

  • Stage 1: Each category is evaluated by a jury of 8-12 members who vote individually and confidentially. The top five projects based on average score enter the shortlist.
  • Stage 2: A smaller jury of 5 members, selected from the jury panel involved in Stage 1, reviews and discusses the shortlisted projects before selecting the Gold, Silver and Bronze winners.
  • Grand Prix: Voted by a jury formed by the presidents of the six category juries, who debate and vote among the Gold winners.

MMB Music × Brands Awards reserves the right to make the final decision regarding jury composition and juror allocation per category.

Judging Criteria

Projects are evaluated based on five criteria, each scored from 1 to 10. The final score represents the arithmetic average of all scores given by the jurors across all criteria.

1. Idea & Concept

How relevant, original and well-articulated the collaboration between the brand and the musical component is. A strong concept has a clear logic, a distinctive central idea and relevance for all parties involved.

2. Strategy

To what extent the project responds to a real and clearly assumed objective. The jury evaluates whether there is strategic thinking behind the collaboration, rather than a random execution or superficial association.

3. Execution

The quality of implementation, the coherence between the concept and the final result, the attention to detail and the level of production professionalism, regardless of budget.

4. Impact

The results generated by the project, whether in terms of reach, engagement, cultural impact, perception change or any other measurable or demonstrable effect on the target audience.

5. Music × Brands Relevance

To what extent the collaboration between the brand and the musical component feels authentic and creates value for both sides involved.
